A very, very warm welcome to the Self Realized, Shatter Your Limits Podcast, I thank you once again for joining me and giving me your invaluable time and attention on episode number 88 The Spiritual Life Balance. Daily Practices for Success, and I'm going to ask for your forgiveness if my voice isn't quite where it should be, I've been fighting off a little bit of a cold the last week or so, so bear with me through this. I hope that my voice is going to work for you throughout the entire podcast. Apologies ahead of time once again. When we look at working very carefully in our lives on a daily basis for success, and we combine our spiritual life with our everyday life and daily practices to make that happen. It is a profound combination, because nothing essentially happens unless you have a spiritual life balance getting involved with your daily life because you every day are making decisions. You're making decisions that are going to affect the entire outcome of your life. There are two self aware, centered places that you will be making those decisions from that you are thinking and acting, from that require integration as a daily practice for your ongoing success. So let's you and I contemplate a little bit more about this spiritual life balance, as the title suggests for your success. When you and I talk about balance, there's usually, if you can visualize this a scale, and you're trying to balance a scale by adding a weight here on one side, or a weight there on the other side, until there is a balance, there's an equilibrium within that scale. That's what balance is. If you're walking you maintain your balance. If you lose your balance, you fall. So balance is a very powerful concept to begin to own and get involved with, because spiritual life, balance simply means this. I'll give you my definition of it, is that you are integrating your human consciousness with your spiritual consciousness, and you are balancing those two together to have a profound experience of yourself as an integrated human being and spiritual being. I talk more about that in episode number 65 Five Practical Keys for Human and Spiritual Success Every Day. Let's you and I look a little bit more in depth about the balancing of your self as a human being consciously and a spiritual being consciously. That's life balance. That right there is life balance. When you have those two working together synergistically, you will find that your life has better outcomes because you've balanced your thought process. So let me dive more deeply into that as a concept for you, so you can begin to have a real, truthfully profound, practical application of this as an experience in your life, going forward from the end of this podcast, by applying it and using in your life every day as a daily practice for your success. What I want to give you today is this a simple realization, a self-realization, as a self-realized individual, that when you begin to have a thought process in your mind, there's two things that begin to happen. You begin to have a human experience as to what it is that you want in your mind, you begin to think things through, and that's based upon all the external parameters that you're trying to satisfy. It may be financial, it may be health, it may be the fact that you want to begin to change your relationships with other people. That is a conscious thought within the realm of where you are living now. The tangible human world, the reality that we experience on an everyday basis. There is also another consciousness working in parallel with that, which is a spiritual consciousness, which is dealing with the intangibles that are not necessarily associated with this world, which could be termed, as many of you know, I talk about in many of my episodes, intuition, faith, guidance, gut feeling. So the balance becomes integrating the spiritual consciousness with the human consciousness. Now, if you're going through the process of trying to fix your life, financially, if you have financial issues, if you have anxiety, if you have depression, if you have all the things that might be affecting your life in a negative way, because that's what we try to fix, right? We try to fix what's not working for us. What's working for us is fine until it doesn't, of course. But let's look at this from that perspective. You are now going to, from this point on, apply a process. Let me give you the process so you can begin to use it .When you begin to have a thought, don't just begin to think about it on a human level, on a human perspective, when you begin to have a thought about, how can I fix something in my life, no matter what it is, just don't stay in the human consciousness. Begin to integrate and balance your spiritual consciousness in order to solve the issue. Let me give an example of that. Let's say that you are going through a time in your life right now where you have financial difficulties, or you're looking to change a job, they go hand in hand, or a relationship, for example, whatever it is, let's look at it from the perspective of how you may go about approaching this. You may get anxious, you may get frustrated, you may get angry, you may get to the point when all of those emotions and the thought process that you're going through is creating a negative feeling inside of you about the situations that are occurring, which can lead to depression and anxiety. That's because your human consciousness, the way you are approaching it, isn't balanced with a spiritual awareness, a spiritual consciousness, because spiritual life balance means this. You do have these issues. We all do in this dimension, in this life that we live. There's no getting away from it. And unfortunately, the reality is, no matter what anybody tells you, they are going to keep coming. You I have no idea what tomorrow is going to bring, but what we do know is, is that we have a consciousness that constantly is dealing with what presents itself in our lives. The approach is not just from a human consciousness, because essentially, we cannot fix anything, really from how we bring our human consciousness to bear upon it alone. Because sometimes, when you look at life, we cannot just think our way through a process. It doesn't have a logical ability to give us an answer. If you don't have money right now to meet needs or you have a health issue that no doctor can solve you have to begin to integrate a different consciousness to get the result that you want, and that is spiritual life balance as a daily practice for your success, beginning to cultivate that habit, allowing faith, trust and surrender to be part of your thinking process as you allow your logical mind to come up with solutions as well. In essence, do your best, forget the rest and let the process of spiritual life balance begin to unfold in your life in a meaningful and profound way. Let me give an example of that. Let's say that you are looking to change your finances, and you may be thinking about how you're going to do that, and it seems hopeless and helpless at this moment in time. That's because you're only seeing it from a human perspective. Now, I know that sounds crazy. It might sound even too far out there, but this is the truth. When you begin to allow the spiritual consciousness to work with the human consciousness, you will find the power of freedom thought and creativity to solve your issues and your problems, because the spiritual consciousness is not limited. When you begin to have an issue, whether it's financial, whatever it is, you want to understand that, okay, my human mind is going to say, this is a problem.
09:56
You're going to ask yourself, How do I solve this? You may then, as I mentioned earlier, going to a spiral of anxiety, which a lot of people suffer from now, the ability to step back for a moment and not get totally involved in how do I fix this? But allow yourself a space to say, I don't know how to fix this. That's what you need to begin to do you really don't know, because the truth of the matter is, in your own conscious thought, if you knew how to fix it, you wouldn't be getting anxious or concerned about it. You'd be relaxed. Which faith and surrender in the spiritual consciousness allow you to be even when you don't have an answer once it is truly cultivated, which is one of the major benefits of the spiritual life balance. So you're actually your own worst enemy at this point, because you cannot fix something you don't have an answer to. When you don't have an answer, that's where your spiritual consciousness comes in. That's where spiritual life balance begins to come in. That's where you find peace. That's where you find a place within yourself that you sit quietly and admit to yourself and admit to the higher consciousness, admit to that place within yourself that is your spiritual soul center, whether you want to acknowledge it as a reality or not, the sooner you do, the better off you'll be, because when you begin to acknowledge that very powerful place within you, the infinite source of all creation, which you are part of, which is where you came from. Because ultimately, you really are not maintaining your own life, so to speak, you have a breath that goes in and out of you that is involuntary. So there's something working with you, if you just think of things from that perspective on a much bigger scale, if you allow that part of you, the infinite part of you, to be the problem solver, you will find as you practice this, this space that you leave a peace within yourself, because there is a humbling here, a humility, and that humility allows you to have freedom and power in your life. Let me explain that to you a little bit further and contemplate on this. If you go to someone on a human level and you ask for help, and you really are sincere about that, and the person is sitting right there in front of you, and you go to them, you say, I really don't know how to deal with this situation. You are vulnerable. You're asking them for help. You may not take their advice, but you're asking them for help. It's humbling, is it not? You have to put your ego aside for the moment, to take advice from other people, more importantly, to act on it. It's the same with spiritual understanding and a spiritual life balance. You have to put yourself aside. There's no person there in front of you. It's me, myself and I admitting to yourself to that which created you to a higher consciousness, God, whatever you'd like to call it or associate with, that thought process that you are in a position that you need help, and you're humbling yourself in your most vulnerable moment to say to that consciousness, that awareness, that spiritual balance within you, I need help, and then allow that space to fill within you where the help can come, because you're going to say, in a true, sincere manner, I have no idea what to do. Guide me. Humble yourself before the spirit, which is the key to you receiving the guidance and solutions to the current issue that you're seeking to solve. Humility is a powerful resource. Ultimately, that is the most powerful place that you could ever live in, because that is your powerhouse of understanding. For a moment when you have a problem, admit that you don't have the answer, and then ask for it. That is spiritualizing your consciousness with a divine awareness that is available to you to bring about solutions you could not even imagine possible. I've experienced in my own life. That's why I'm giving you this to use. Many times in my own life, I've had situations that I've been involved in that I didn't know how to solve. That it was beyond my comprehension to begin to solve it in a deep and meaningful manner. I'll give an example of that. I told my Achilles tendon many, many years ago, and I had no real way to begin to solve this because obviously, I'd never had that experience before. It's a long healing process. And what happened there was, was that I was looking for doctors, for people who would give me advice to how I should go about healing this Achilles tendon, which, if it doesn't heal right, it can be a major problem. It's a major injury. I injured it playing tennis. One day, I walked into a hospital, and I went to see a doctor there. The doctor that I was meant to see wasn't available. He was on vacation, and he was suggesting and talking about doing an operation, surgery. I met another doctor there. I had left a space open in my own consciousness for a result that was right, and that would work, and would give me a permanent rehabilitation that will be pain free, and I could utilize my leg again. The doctor that came out looked at me, looked at my leg. I'd been walking on it for a little while. He didn't even know how I'd been doing that, and he said to me, you don't need an operation. He said, I don't do that. They do a lot of that here in the United States. I've been all over the world, and your leg will heal naturally. I'm just going to put you in a splint. I'm going to give you a boot, and come back and see me in a couple of weeks. We'll see how the progress is going. You don't need an operation. Now, I left the space for that because I didn't really have an answer. I had a big problem, but I didn't really an answer, and when I left the space, what I was been giving as remedy was overridden by a bigger power and force than myself, the odds of that doctor that I was meant to see not being there and another doctor being there instead that didn't want 30 or $40,000 for an operation, basically, was circumventing his own financial pocket book for me. He could have said you needed an operation, and he would have made money, he sent me away with a sprint and a boat, and I healed perfectly in the coming months under his guidance. When you don't have solutions to a problem, and even when you think you've come up with one, my point is the solution that is even presented to you like the original doctor can be overridden by a force greater than yourself, because it's looking out for you, because you allow the space for it to occur. That is spiritual life balance. You can come up with solutions. Sometimes, you can even go meet people sometimes. But the solution, the ultimate solution, may not come from the person you went to meet. That's what happened to me. There is an overriding of your own consciousness and conscious thought and actions when you open yourself up to having solutions from many different options beyond yourself or what you consciously think is available. Now this works in business, as well as personal life. Spiritual life, balance simply means in a very profound and effective way in your life, contemplating this for a moment is this is that you have a situation, you have a problem, it could be anything. You bring your own consciousness to bear upon it, which is your human consciousness, because that's what we do, but you allow a space for a larger consciousness, your spiritual consciousness, your spiritual awareness, to intervene and give you different options than you even thought possible. My Achilles tendon is a perfect example, because I didn't even know that not having surgery was an option. Something else did, but it certainly wasn't me, but it presented me with the choice. When you live in this life, getting crazy about coming up with solutions for everything in your life will drive you insane. You cannot. That's where stress comes from. That's where fear comes from. That's where anxiety comes from. That's where depression comes from. A lot of times in our life, things that we get involved in looking around the way the world is set up. A lot of it is based in fear. A lot of it is based in disempowering you, not allowing you to realize the power of your own consciousness and reality within yourself. But once you begin to step into ownership that you know what I have an innate power within myself that is working through and with me that is bigger than me, that allows things to happen and transcend and transform my life, that are working with me on a deep conscious level, if I allow it.
19:54
When you look at life from this perspective, your human consciousness is a problem solver. But it is not the problem solver. You begin to activate solutions, but don't get anxious about how they may pan out or where they may go. You just do your best, as my Achilles tendon story suggests I show up doctors not there. I did my best, but I was very open. I have to say to you, to allowing a process to occur in my life that was best for me, and I pray and I meditate and I allow that space to occur within myself. And that's what I'm suggesting that you do in your spiritual life balance is that you go out into the world, and you may go for a job, you may go into a situation that you thought was going to turn out a certain way, and somehow, some way, it turns out much better than you ever thought it would, just like my Achilles tendon. That is spiritual life balance, you do your part and leave the rest. Don't worry about the outcome. Begin to use your consciousness in an integrated way. You are an integrated human and spiritual being. You begin to use that integration, that reality, that understanding, to change the course of your life. I shared one story with you in my life. I could share with you different stories in my life about this process working out, because ultimately, you can only do so much. Look around you, look at the universe, look at your life. Look at the process of birth. Look even when we die, do we know what's going to happen? No, we are in a point of surrender by default. At that particular point in our life. We are living a default position in our life, consistently and consciously, of surrender, whether we understand it or not. Why? Because we really don't know what's going on. We really don't know what's going to happen, and the quicker we stop trying to find all the solutions for ourselves, the better off you become as an integrated human being with a spiritual life balance. That's what spiritual life balance is, is understanding that your life is human. It also has a spiritual component to it. You balance both of those together, ongoing, daily, every day. It's a practice, because it's not normal. It's not a position or default position that many of us take, and when you put those two together, that is a daily practice for success, but you practice it every day in little things first and then extend it out to the bigger areas in your life. You don't know when you go out in the world today, how things are going to unfold, but as a daily practice for success, you allow yourself to be open to any and everything that's going to work for you in a positive way, and you maintain that consciousness when you wake up in the morning. Here's my plan for the day. That's what I do. I have a plan for the day. I have a plan for the week. You and I both know that plans are easily disrupted. They can be goals. They can be anything that we set out for our life. The one thing I will absolutely guarantee you that nothing's going to turn out the way you thought it would. That's because you don't control the situation. You don't control outcomes. You have a limited consciousness when you set a goal, human corporations set a goal that that in fact, is going to go the way that you think it's going to go. COVID is a perfect example. Complete and utter disruption. Every plan was out of the window. Every plan that everybody made was out of the window. The only point that anyone could go to, to get through that was a point of that integration of spiritual life balance. I've done my best. I'm going to leave the rest. What do I do now? Allow the space a lot of people did. They had to, by default, allow it to unfold. Interesting thing about COVID, it was directly connected to our breath, our life force. We all had to take a step back. COVID really was respiratory. It was not allowing people to be able to breathe the life in them. We were all in a space of forced surrender, no where to go, no place but to sit for a while if we chose to alone in our houses or wherever we were sitting and being with our friends and family, to come up with solutions of what do I do now? I think sometimes these situations and these pandemics create a consciousness transformation. We are not you and I are not in the position to be dictating the outcome of our life. We have to admit that and come to that realization. And I say have to because it's only a matter of time before that becomes a reality, that the integration of your life is important and your consciousness is important. Begin to own this at the deepest level of yourself. You do your best at a human conscious level, but allow a space to occur. That something better can happen. And don't get anxious about what you're doing or the outcome. Just keep moving forward with your own solution. Don't get worried if it's not turning out the way you would like, or it's not moving forward the way you would like, or things aren't panning out the way you would like, financially, in your health, they're all going to happen to us. But just allow yourself, in a quiet moment to get still and say, you know what, I've done my best, I will leave the rest. That is spiritual life balance, that is the spiritual component of your life. I have done my best, I will leave the rest. You can leave the rest to God. You can leave the rest to your higher consciousness. You can leave the rest to your spiritual understanding. It doesn't matter to me what you choose to call whatever you're involved in, as long as you understand that you have a spiritual component in your life, an infinite source of power and creation that is working with you. Combine it to get a balanced life, spiritually balanced. Spiritual life balance human consciousness with spiritual consciousness, surrender with action. What I mean by that is, put your best foot forward. Don't lose your balance. Keep stepping forward on your path, but don't get distracted and fall over because things aren't necessarily moving the way you would like. Just allow things to unfold. They will, but it is a conscious awareness, a daily practice, for success to say to yourself every morning, when you wake up this day, I have outcomes that I would like, however, lord knows that things don't turn out and may not end up exactly which is more often the case than not as I would like, but I have in my own consciousness, my own spiritual life, balance consciousness that whatever happens, it will always work out for my best, and I'm open to even greater possibilities than I have planned. You've now opened a door of infinite possibilities for your life, and you will begin to find that anxiety and depression and worry begin to dissipate because you don't always want to control the outcome or worry about it, and as I mentioned earlier in my story about my Achilles tendon, it turned out better than I could have ever thought I had no need for an operation. And this is a long term injury. And let me add another additional part to that story. It was healing in nine months. Same doctor. You won't believe what I did. I went and tore it again. So I was like 15, 18, months with an injury that takes a long time to heal, and even when I went back the second time, I thought for sure, he's gonna operate now. No, he didn't. He said, you know what, I'm not going to operate on this. You will heal again, but be careful where you're walking and where you're putting your feet and what you're doing. And that, to me, was a great realization to me in balance. I lost my balance again, and I tore it again. And it was awakening for me at such a deep spiritual level that I thought this is a metaphor for life. You can really hurt yourself over and over again if you don't just watch what you're doing, where you're going, be conscious of what you're doing, and then let go of the rest. I was forced to fortunately for me, I had a good doctor who stood by me for nearly 18 months and good physiotherapy, I recovered fully from that injury without any residual effects whatsoever. So I share this story with you, because even in our most difficult moments, when I couldn't walk, I couldn't drive, and those of you who had the injury would know there is this point of I don't know what to do, but I'll leave it alone. Show up at the hospital and let the chips fall where they may. They felt better for me than I ever thought possible, because I was open in my own life, balance, my own spiritual consciousness and human consciousness to whatever was available to me through the power of something much greater than myself to fix the issue that I was currently in. That is available to you also,
