Welcome to the Self-Realized Podcast with Linton Bergsen, where you will shatter your limits. I am not much into the self-help industry as much as I'm into the self-realized individual, which is you, what matters most to you, how you get there and the obstacles that may be in your way. If you would like to be part of this podcast and part of that discussion, I welcome you here with an open heart, open mind and open arms. So, without further ado, let's get on with the podcast. Today, you are invited on a journey most never truly embark upon a journey that doesn't settle for just surface-level wellness hacks but boldly unlocks the foundation of your lasting wellness itself. This isn't about chasing peace or happiness that can just slip away. It's about discovering and harnessing the power that remains when you master the dance of opposites. Duality. Are you ready to discover the secrets that most overlook? If you are, in today's episode, number 111, Unlock Lasting Wellness, 2 Essential Secrets Revealed. I would like you to imagine never having to fear that your sense of well-being will crumble when life becomes turbulent. When adversity arrives. Imagine you can hold on to your contentment, clarity and strength no matter what happens in your life, these essential secrets are available to you now, and everything changes when you unlock lasting wellness at its very source.
Linton Bergsen:Let's take a look at this hidden engine I like to call it of opposites duality, life's silent architect. Duality is not an obstacle. It is the silent architect of every motion, challenge and triumph that you will face. Contemplate on this for a moment. Imagine your soul as a mirror. One side shines with joy and the other with the shadow of sorrow. Two sides of the same coin. The reflection isn't a flaw. It is your soul's way of teaching you that light and dark must work together in order to reveal wholeness. That in itself is an understanding of opposites, duality. Think of your experiences. Hope meets doubt, excitement meets disappointment, ambition meets failure, rather than fighting these pairs, lasting wellness is unlocked when you see both as necessary and holding very vital lessons for you to learn from, grow and develop. That is why duality is the hidden engine and silent architect of your life, because it is where everything is built upon and from, depending on how you act, to the opposites that present themselves to you. Let me give you an example of that.
Linton Bergsen:I was once working with a very creative individual. We'll just call her Emily and she felt trapped between her creative flow and her periods of block where things weren't moving quite as freely as she would like. Struggling against resistance only drained her. She had a phenomenal breakthrough when she learned to honor both the creative process and the block, the creative surges and the dry spells, relaxing into the rhythm. Her work deepened and her joy returned. Life has a rhythm. In nature it has a rhythm hot and cold, daytime, night time. As you begin to move with the rhythm of life, everything becomes more meaningful and you begin to understand that you need both, as we do in nature, to flow, create, to live and express your true soul essence.
Linton Bergsen:Contemplate on this question for a moment. Why do we lose our wellness? One of the answers to that is breaking the cycle of chasing and resisting. If you've ever felt like you're running all the time toward things you desire and away from things you fear, you are certainly not alone. Chasing the good, resisting the bad, keeps you stuck on a roller coaster, with wellness always just out of your reach. Creation, as I mentioned a moment ago, itself begins with polarity. The very first breath that you take when you are born begins with polarity. Inhale and exhale. Every new beginning requires you to let go of something else first. Wellness is found in honoring both the gathering in and the letting go.
Linton Bergsen:Let me give an example of an individual that I worked with at one time. We'll call him Mark. He spent many years trying to avoid criticism and seek approval. We can all relate to that. When a project failed and he was met with harsh feedback, Mark felt it was unbearable for him. Mark felt it was unbearable for him until he decided to see both praise and criticism as sources of wisdom. From that moment on, Mark's career evolved. He found a steadier sense of self and satisfaction.
Linton Bergsen:Ask yourself this question what emotions or situations do you constantly try to escape? What would happen if you allowed yourself to experience both sides fully for example acknowledging your anger and what makes you angry and then deciding to experience forgiveness fully as the opposite of the anger, embracing that as a true experience in your life? The first essential secret for you to unlock lasting wellness is awareness, self-awareness. Not passive observation, but active recognition, spotting the dual forces in every situation and realizing that each part has insight to offer you. Taking a look at this from a spiritual perspective, imagine the dance of your heart's temple with two guardians at its door, passion and peace. The spiritual journey isn't about choosing one, but letting both guide you. The self-realized individual understands that at the deepest level, transforming turbulence into profound stillness and inspired action. It's important to feel passion about something, but then you have to find a peaceful place within you as well, an intuitive place to receive the guidance as what you would like to do with the passion, the purpose, the driving force that you're feeling. They both serve each other. The most important words are inspired action from that quiet place of intuition to guide your passion.
Linton Bergsen:Here's an exercise that I'm going to give you that you can use to try to spot the duality in your life and find a way to make it useful on an everyday basis. At the end of each day, I suggest you jot down a moment when you noticed conflicting feelings, for example, a desire to connect and the need for solitude, pride versus humility, joy versus sadness. When you begin to acknowledge and name both sides of the duality that you experience, you will find that your mind begins to calm down and you can begin to broaden your perspective and contemplate how you're going to work with each one of those in your life on a daily basis, how you choose to experience them, how you choose to learn from them, how can they be of service to you? Because you will go through this life, I will go through this life consistently experiencing opposites. Duality, it is how we choose to interact with them, name them and use them positively, as I've mentioned earlier, to become the architects and building blocks of our life. Let me give an example of that.
Linton Bergsen:I was working with John, the owner of a rather large company and he had to give a speech and presentation to the organization. Now, contrary to popular belief, you would think that CEO's or people who own companies don't feel excitement and dread before giving a speech. They do. You may be aware that public speaking is one of the most feared things by many individuals, but through awareness, self-awareness, he saw his nerves and anticipation as partners in his own growth. The duality gave him presence and authenticity on stage.
Linton Bergsen:When you embrace duality in your life, when you acknowledge it and begin to work with it, you become more authentic because you are acknowledging the true essence of your soul, how you are designed. You live in a world of duality. You experience both. Acknowledging both gives you authenticity, it gives you vulnerability, it gives you the opportunity to open your spirit, your mind, your body to all types of input and awakenings that you can do no other way, which is an intricate part of the journey to your own self-realization and becoming a truly self-realized individual.
Linton Bergsen:Let's take a look now at the second secret to be revealed in today's episode the power of conscious response. The second essential secret is the ability to choose consciously rather than reactively. That is a very, very important point to absorb within your consciousness. When duality shows up frustration with work versus inspiration from a new idea, love for someone versus the need for boundaries the door to lasting wellness opens through your decisions in those moments, contemplate on this for a moment. Imagine your life as a river flowing between banks of safety and adventure, comfort and challenge. For you to awaken spiritually is to float between letting each current shape your evolution.
Linton Bergsen:I'm going to give you an exercise I suggest that you can use when strong emotions or conflict arises in your life. Pause for a moment, take just three slow breaths. Ask yourself what are the two forces at work here. Choose an action or a response that honors both sides. For example, address a conflict directly but with compassion. In my own life, I will give you an example. I am constantly dealing when working with individuals, personally or professionally, to give feedback. Sometimes the feedback can be tough. A lot of people fear confrontation. I have made a conscious choice embraced it, when having those difficult conversations I see it as an opportunity a birthplace for deeper trust and growth, for both myself and the people that I'm working with.
Linton Bergsen:Let's take a look how duality affects our everyday life, starting out with relationships. Partnerships are a dance of opposites, support and challenge, similarity and differences. I'll give you a story about Jen and Michael and they were newlyweds and they found themselves arguing over finances. One valued security, the other spontaneity, when each voice was honored and respected. T They came up together with a creative solution and the connection between them both deepened.
Linton Bergsen:Let's look at duality in the domain of work and passion. Professional fulfillment comes from knowing when to push and when to rest. Never overdo it. If you're on a project and you have to meet deadlines, know that productivity only occurs also when you have time for restoration. It's not just productivity. There's a duality happening here with your need to acknowledge that you are actually more productive when you have time to restore yourself, when you have rest. By balancing your ambitions with your downtime, you'll find your passion for your projects return and, more importantly, your passion for life remains sustained, with the right rest to boost your productivity, unlocking your sense of lasting wellness.
Linton Bergsen:Let's take a look at health. Health flourishes when progress and setbacks are both honored and respected. If you're working out and going to the gym and you're not always making the progress that you would like, accept it. Accept that there may be days that you need to rest, that you need to reflect upon what you're doing. Give yourself some self-respect. Slow down. Honor your accomplishments and accept your slow days. Have some patience and self-respect for yourself, for all that you are doing to try and improve your health. Honoring yourself is a key component to unlocking lasting wellness within your entire being. Always honor, respect and remember how special and unique you truly are. Sometimes the world can have you doubt that you are created from a divine source of energy that loves you, supports you and takes care of you. Acknowledging that, cultivating that in whatever spiritual or religious way you choose God, cosmic consciousness it is important to develop, sustain and hold very close to your heart for your lasting wellness.
Linton Bergsen:Let's discuss together now some practices for unlocking lasting wellness. Going a little bit deeper. Try this meditation, obviously when you're not listening to the podcast. Visualize a challenge with duality that you have with each breath imagine opposites optimism, worry, action and stillness merging together and affirm, as you imagine this, this affirmation. Every experience is a teacher on my journey to lasting wellness. That's the affirmation. Say it with with meaning, repeat it and hold it deeply within your consciousness. It's important for you to recognize, in unlocking your lasting wellness, there is a very strong spiritual part of this, acknowledging your sacred inner temple. I'd like for you to imagine in that temple stand two pillars. Acceptance and transformation. Acceptance roots you in the present. Transformation invites growth together these pillars support your self-realization.
Linton Bergsen:You can become very aware of how duality affects your everyday life in everything you do. Mindful movement is important for you to acknowledge when you're out in the world, as you stretch or walk, honor both strength and softness, the push and the pull. Growth is found in their interplay, in speaking with people, the duality of dialogue. Share experiences of conflicting feelings with a friend or partner. Notice how the connection deepens when both sides are accepted. Gratitude allows you to have expansion of your spirit, of your inner sanctuary, each night thank life for pleasure and discomfort, because they both cultivate your inner wisdom. Be grateful for them, honor them.
Linton Bergsen:I would like to give you some suggestions now of how you can integrate the secrets that we have discussed today and create and unlock lasting wellness in your life. For daily integration. I would suggest you do this. Create, if you'd like, a dual awareness journal. Record daily your experiences of the opposites in your life. At the end of each week complete a weekly reflection of your daily experiences from your journal and begin to look at patterns and review patterns and how your interaction with the opposites and the duality in your life are serving you and how they are not.
Linton Bergsen:For example, if your response to criticism is to hold on to it and not let go, then try on an ongoing basis to break that pattern and let go of the criticism. Try and learn from it and don't take it personally. Tough, I know, but that is the work and the journey of the self-realized individual. If you can share your experiences with a friend or a family member or someone you really trust once a month and get some feedback and some support, then do that as well, because in order for you to make wellness an enduring everyday positive life experience. You may want to share what's going on in your life so you can get support from the people that you know truly love you and that you trust their input. So you can continue to expand yourself and your self-development with the support that you need and the inspiration that it can provide.
Linton Bergsen:Unlocking lasting wellness does not begin with what the world provides, but with what you choose to see and how you act. The two essential secrets awareness and conscious choice are your tools to carry into every moment. Duality is no longer your enemy. It is your master teacher, the heart of your evolution and the source of true, enduring strength. Remember each breath, each challenge, each choice is your invitation to unlock lasting wellness and use the two essential secrets revealed in this episode. Awareness and conscious choice.
